“Cooldown”

Every rider knows that split second when everything goes wrong.

I painted this one in deep periwinkle blue — the shadow does the heavy lifting. There's something honest about painting the rough side of horses, not just the pretty bits. Growing up around horses, you see plenty of falls. This one stayed with me.

It's not a cautionary tale. It's a love letter to anyone who's ever gotten back on.
